The Battle for Deathbridge begins!

The Battle for Deathbridge begins... soon.  The local club is starting a mighty fantasy escalation/land grab league.  The insidious Forces of Destruction are invading the Island of Deathbridge, the meager armies of the Forces of Order rushing to the defense!  Twelve armies all vying to be the last one standing!

The campaign set up is fairly neat.  We will escalate from 1500pts to 2000 to 2500 over the course of 9-12 weeks.   The campaign will be set upon a Mighty Empires tiled island with the FoD trying to take over as much of the map as they can.  The campaign begins with a large scale 3 vs 3 game.  The Forces of Order will be set upon the table in defensive positions holding two towers and a defensible other position.  Each of these will be situated on one table quarter.  Destruction are the attackers, deploying along one table edge, Order wherever else they are needed on the rest of the playing area.

The game itself is a mismatch in points.  Destruction is supposed to win.  How quickly they can win determines their placement and number of tiles for the commencement of the league.  Destruction will total 6000pts with Order a mere 3000.   Side games will/may be played at much smaller totals, 750 vs 500.  The surviving models from those games can then immediately join the bigger game as reinforcements.   It should be a blast for all involved and quite a large affair so early into a new system.  It's definitely a good test on the large scale multiplayer rules.

Destruction will be the attacker throughout the campaign and needs to win 51% of the tiles to win the campaign... or rather, have 1 more then Order.  Order just has to fend them off!   There will be special, secret tiles with their own scenarios.  There is the possibility of 2 on 1 games or multiplayer games.  It's all up to the generals.  They decide whom fights whom!  They decide the fate of Deathbridge!

The sides, for those curious are:
Forces of Order: Wood Elves, Dwarves, Ogre Kingdoms, High Elves, Bretonnians, Lizardmen
Forces of Destruction: Warriors of Chaos, Throgg Monster Horde version of WoC, Beastmen, Ogre Kingdoms, Night Goblins and Skaven

Who will win?  Who will survive?  Keep track of the blog and see!  We will try and give weekly updates as we progress.

And of course, as always, let's hear your thoughts.  Are you doing a campaign?  Wish you were?  Going to?
